An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Clinical Coding team at Jersey General Hospital. Clinical Coding is the translation of medical case notes, as written by the clinician, into a coded format. Accuracy, attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to interact well with staff at all levels are fundamental requirements. Previous experience of medical terminology would be advantageous, as would an understanding of anatomy and physiology. Commitment to learning is essential in order to acquire the breadth of knowledge required to become proficient in all aspects of the role. Coders will initially undertake two months intensive training covering anatomy and physiology, coding classifications and the National Clinical Coding Standards.
